Making your own homemade beauty products has numerous benefits. Avoiding dangerous and harmful chemicals off your body while you can save huge amounts of money, you could spend otherwise.
You can make homemade soaps, lotions, makeup, fragrances and much more, just as good as the ones you buy commercially. This way you are also helping the environment by reducing waste from packaging. Reuse glass containers and save money.
Below I am sharing some simple and effective recipes for common issues. Hope you adopt or get used to doing some of them for your own benefits and for the environment
While the ingredients on beauty products are listed on the back, some chemicals are hidden or not listed at all. Some of these dangerous chemicals like pthalates, formaldehyde, parabens which cause chronic diseases like cancers, tumors and skin diseases amongst others.
Making homemade beauty products does not require harming and testing on animals. Chemicals get flushed down in drains which end up in our rivers, seas killing hundreds of creatures.
Start adopting this approach and you will gain more than extra bucks in your pocket. You can decorate the jars and give out as genuine and unique gifts.
The following is just a small part of what you can do with ingredients found at home.
The first one is a treatment to revitalize your hair
Honey-Avocado Hair Treatment
To make one treatment, peel and stone a medium size avocado with 2 tablespoons of honey and mash. Massage mixture into hair and leave for half an hour. Rinse hair and wash as usual.
Want your face skin to look younger?

Remove from heat and allow to cool for a few minutes. Stir in your favorite oil with the contents of one Vitamin E capsule. Pour in small containers and close tightly. Decorate or personalize for gifts.
Scrub your dead skin with

Soften your hands with

Another homemade spa mask for a firmer face skin with
Peach and Egg White

Give your tiring feet a spa treatment at the end of the day
Fill a foot bath to ankle height with warm water. Dissolve half cup of bath salts (like Epsom or Radox), add the essential oil of your choice (lavender, rosewood, patchouli and sandalwood are relaxing oils, while lemongrass and eucalyptus are uplifting). Soak your feet for 15 minutes. Pat dry, moisturize with a foot cream and wear socks.
